Turning Inspriations - Theme Camp & Art Installation

Turning Inspriations is a radically interactive art installation, for Burning Man 2007. The canvas consists of 32 participant created discs, which may be turned by touch, and can also turn under motor control. Discs respond to touch, turning and influencing each other. Six ultrasonic motion sensors allow all responses to movement. The nature of the way each canvas moves and responds is also created by participants using nearby computer terminals or any wifi laptop! The Turning Inspiration Workshop, a theme camp located nearby, provides drawing and painting supplies, and hundreds of blank canvases. Computer terminals and assistance will be on hand, so participants may bring their creations to life. A white board and other resources will allow participants to collaborate together to achieve coordinated art and interactive responses. The workshop will also feature plenty of space to display inspirations waiting to go onto the art installation, and those which have had their turn!
